Hardwired Smoke Alarm Replacement
New 240V hardwired smoke alarms to replace expired, yellowed or chirping units. Each one is tested before we leave and dated so you know when it's due.
Working smoke alarms, a safe electrical system and someone to call when something goes wrong.
Smoke alarms only last 10 years, and most homes we visit have at least one that's expired, missing or chirping for a new battery. In Victoria, homes built since 1997 need hardwired 240V alarms, and interconnected alarms that all sound together are a big safety step up.
Beyond smoke alarms, we find and fix the problems that make a home unsafe, from safety switches that keep tripping to scorched power points and old wiring, and we give you a clear, honest report.
The cheapest life insurance you'll ever buy.

A single chirp every minute or so usually means a flat backup battery, or the alarm has reached the end of its 10-year life. If it's over 10 years old, replace the alarm rather than just the battery.
Twist it off the base and check the manufacture or expiry date on the back. If there's no date, or it's over 10 years old, it's due for replacement.
New homes and major renovations require interconnected alarms. For existing homes it's not always mandatory, but it's strongly recommended, especially in double-storey homes.
